Throw pillows or decorative pillows are a great way to enjoy & display a item from a loved one that has passed. You can use a shirt, or jeans for the pillow project. As the fabric is durable, sweaters are fun as well they will have their own tutorial as the fabric is a bit tricky.
First you will size your project, you can do this by using a pillow you have or the cover from one. Decide what parts you want to utilize. the top image is from the pant legs.
I cut the pant down the crotch, middle, and opened to make cutting easier. You will need to cut two, a front & back.
Then use a jean needle or universal if sewing a shirt. on your machine. Only one needle left? Replenish jean needle’s by clicking here. Choose the length of stitch, a longer stitch for thicker fabrics. Put right sides together and sew a straight stitch. Remember to leave a spot open to push pillow through then hand stitch closed. Or sew in a zipper if you like. For this one I left top open & used elastic with button to loop through the pant loops!
That is how easy it is to create your own memory pillow!
Would love to see what you created!
